How to Finish Custom Bikini Bottoms
Designing and sewing your own bikini is a fun, simple project. All you have to do is finish your custom bikini bottoms and you're ready to hit the beaches. You want to finish with finesse so you feel comfortable and look great.

Double check your measurements making sure you left room for your stitching. Make sure you measured at your hip for bikini bottoms. If you used underwear as a pattern, make sure you included extra fabric for a seam allowance.

Try on the custom bikini bottom, keeping the fabric inside-out. Fold extra material to the back side of the fabric as if you were wrapping a present, then pin it together. Do this with the back and front parts of both sides.

Pull the backs and fronts together on both sides making sure they are comfortable and that the swimsuit bottoms are centered so the pattern is not lop-sided. Pin securely.

Place one side on your machine so additional material is cut off. Sew until you reach the waist band, then do a back stitch to secure the thread. Snip off the extra thread and repeat on the other side.
